ABOUT TRIMBLE THERAPY

Learn About My Methods

The mission of my practice is provide effective, evidence-based therapy to help individuals with eating disorders, PTSD, and co-occuring disorders recover. I am passionate about this work and I truly care about the physical, emotional, and cognitive wellbeing of each individual and family I work with.

In my practice, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure-Response Prevention (ERP), and Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE). I use a trauma-informed approach during all of my interactions with clients and their families.

Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE) is one of the leading evidence-based treatments for PTSD and related depression, anxiety, and anger. PE is used widely throughout the United States and many other countries, and has been studied extensively for over 20 years. PE leads to clinically significant improvement in about 80% of patients with chronic PTSD. In addition to significantly reducing PTSD symptoms, PE reduces depression, improves daily functioning, increases confidence and a clients’ awareness of their own competence, and improves a client’s ability to face stressful situations with courage rather than fear and avoidance. PE is a short-term treatment, typically consisting of 8-16 sessions.

Exposure-Response Prevention (ERP) is the leading treatment for individuals struggling with OCD, and it's also effective for treating other forms of anxiety, including panic, social anxiety, and generalized anxiety. It has also been shown to be effective in the treatment of eating disorders.

I provide tele-therapy (therapy through video call or phone) to individuals in New York state, Pennsylvania, Idaho, and Minnesota. I also provide clinical supervision for LMSW's working towards their LCSW.

IMG-0850_edited.jpg

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has specialized in eating disorder and trauma treatment for the past 9 years. I'm also a certified Prolonged Exposure Therapist (PE) for PTSD.

I received my master’s degree from the Columbia University School of Social Work and my bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis. I have provided eating disorder treatment in several levels of care, including residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient levels of care. Prior to opening Trimble Therapy in 2019, I treated individuals with eating disorders as an outpatient therapist at Therapy for Success in Philadelphia. I also served as the Primary Therapist at the residential Eating Disorder Center at Rogers Memorial Hospital in Wisconsin, one of the leading residential treatment centers for eating disorders.  This treatment center is also well-regarded for the treatment of individuals with eating disorders and co-occuring OCD or PTSD. My graduate school clinical internship was at Monte Nido in their partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs.

I'm currently a professional member of IAEDP and AED.

SERVICES

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

In individual therapy, I use evidence-based treatment techniques to help individuals recover from their eating disorders, PTSD, and co-occuring disorders. I strive to help my clients accept their body’s natural shape, no longer experience intense negative emotions due to weight or food, stop compromising their physical or emotional health due to the eating disorder, and cope with negative emotions in healthy ways. I also understand the significance of close relationships, and I help my clients form stronger connections with others.

FAMILY THERAPY

I provide family therapy to guide families through the difficult process of supporting a loved one with an eating disorder.

CLINICAL SUPERVISION

I provide clinical supervision for LMSWs working towards their LCSW and other clinicians looking to enhance their clinical skills.  I tailor supervision to the individual goals of the clinician and the clients the clinician is treating.  I have experience working in several different levels of care (outpatient, IOP, PHP, and residential) and treating many different diagnoses and psychosocial stressors.  I love providing supervision for clinicians who are passionate about this field and excited to learn and improve.
